Bringing Home Baby Zimbrics

Hello! Its been a few more days than I would have liked without blogging, but we've been busy. On Saturday, 5/31, Charlie and Louis were discharged from the hospital and we brought them home! They were both gaining weight from the day before, which is what the doctor wanted to see. It was very exciting to finally be bringing both of them home, to spend time together as a family. Over the last three to four days, we haven't done very much other than feed the babies and watch them. They aren't awake for more than five minutes at a time, but we've already started to pick up on some personality differences. Charlie is a little more curious than Louis, and will crinkle his forehead and move his head at any voice he hears, especially Matt's. Charlie also does not like his diaper changed. Louis seems more laid back, and doesn't care about his diaper being changed. At least for the time being. He likes to play with his hands and a few times we've caught him sucking on his fingers. Both Charlie and Louis are easy to take care of so far. They eat, poop, then sleep. Rarely any fussing.

On Monday, Charlie and Louis had their first doctor appointments. The doctor said everything is going well with them, and was very pleased with their weight gains. Charlie went home from the hospital at 5 lbs 10 oz, and weighs 5 lbs 12 oz now. Louis went home from the hospital at 5 lbs 12 oz, and weighs 5 lbs 14 oz now. Their next appointment is their two week birthday.

Grandma and Grandpa Holter visited the last week, and left today. I had my first afternoon alone with George and Charlie and Louis. It wasn't too bad, except for George being sad about Grandma and Grandpa leaving.
